DOT Driver - Truck Rental - Concord
About The Position
The Enterprise Truck Rental Division is hiring a full-time DOT Driver to transport medium-duty trucks, cargo vehicles, and heavy-duty pickup trucks between rental locations, dealerships, and vendors. The role includes local and out-of-area vehicle deliveries, following written directions, and ensuring safe, courteous transportation and accurate vehicle paperwork. The position is located at 2550 Monument Boulevard, Concord, California, and pays $19 per hour. A California Driver's License is required. No other paid employment is allowed. The scheduled workdays are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday are off. Applicants must meet Department of Transportation requirements, including submitting an appropriate medical examiner's certificate or successfully completing a DOT medical examination. Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Must be able to read and speak English.
- At least 6 months of work experience is required.
- Must have a California Driver's License.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work-authorization sponsorship now or in the future.
- Must be qualified to drive under Department of Transportation regulations.
- Must submit an appropriate medical examiner's certificate or successfully complete a DOT medical examination.
- No other paid employment is allowed.
Responsibilities
- Transport medium-duty trucks, cargo vehicles, and heavy-duty pickup trucks to and from rental locations, dealerships, and vendors.
- Drive and deliver vehicles locally or out of the area as needed while following all rules of the road.
- Deliver customers and vehicles safely and courteously to the appropriate destination.
- Ride with or follow another driver to drop off vehicles or pick up multiple vehicles.
- Organize travel routes and ensure vehicle paperwork is accurate and timely.
- Communicate via two-way radio or cellular phone as needed.
- Clean vehicles as requested.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
