About The Position

Total Safety is looking for a DOT Driver to join their safety-conscious team. The DOT Driver drives a commercial truck and a variety of trailers to pick up, haul, and unload equipment and supplies to and from job sites and customer locations. This role involves cross-training in air work, gas detection, and rescue services, and requires strict compliance with current DOT regulations. Requirements

At least 12 months of verifiable DOT driving experience within the last three (3) years.
A valid DOT medical examiner's certificate with a minimum of 3 months prior to expiration.
Must be insurable for Total Safety vehicle insurance while driving the company truck.
A satisfactory driving record meeting all requirements of the FMCSR and company policies.
Minimum of manufacturer field level training and certification in respiratory and instrumentation.
Valid driver's license from state of residence and valid proof of vehicle insurance.
Commercial driver's license per requirements of facility class A, B, or C with HAZMAT endorsement.
Must comply with current DOT regulations.
Must pass internal forklift training and certification.

Responsibilities

Refers to safety and operations checklists for each trailer type and follows them before each haul.
Completes DOT and company-required documentation.
Provides timely delivery and pick-up to and from designated customer locations.
Inspects equipment for damage and/or excessive wear when picking up.
Complies with current DOT regulations, including timely qualification renewals, equipment and cargo security inspections, electronic logging devices, and other required transport documentation.
Completes all delivery and pickup documentation accurately and in a timely manner, obtaining customer signatures for proper invoicing.
Performs basic maintenance and care of assigned vehicle and/or trailer.
Performs pre-trip, post-trip, and ad-hoc equipment inspections on all commercial motor vehicles and trailers as required by FMCSR.
Performs weekly inspections on all non-DOT assigned trucks and trailers to ensure safety and preventative maintenance measures are executed and documented.
Assists others in the facility, including stocking shelves with clean, tested equipment and loading customer orders onto trucks for delivery.
Maintains work area and other areas in a clean and orderly condition.
Services customers and/or company-owned electronics and respiratory equipment.
Assists others as needed, which may include performing emergency roadside repairs.
