DOT Delivery Driver
About The Position
Havertys is seeking energetic Furniture Delivery Drivers to deliver and set up merchandise in customers’ homes. Drivers perform deliveries safely and professionally, keep to customer time windows, and provide superior customer service. The role also includes loading and unloading products at customers’ homes, stores, or warehouses, and assisting in the warehouse or showroom when needed. Paid training is provided, and delivery experience is preferred but not required. Pay starts at $20.50–$30.50 per hour, based on experience. Shifts start at 7:30 a.m. and continue until completion. Routes run four days per week, generally 10 or more hours per day, and do not run on Sundays.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must have a current driver’s license and a clean driving record with minimal moving violations.
- Must be willing and able to push, pull, and repeatedly team lift 150 pounds throughout the shift.
- Must be able to achieve DOT Certification; the company pays for certification.
- Must pass background requirements and a drug screen, including THC testing.
- Must successfully complete a physical assessment.
- Must wear Havertys-provided uniforms while driving or riding in delivery trucks; steel-toed work boots or shoes are required, as is safety gear when applicable.
Nice To Haves
- Furniture delivery experience is preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Operate the delivery vehicle in a safe and courteous manner.
- Deliver and set up furniture in customers’ homes.
- Stay within customer delivery time windows.
- Accurately communicate and document delivery transactions using a mobile device or provided paperwork.
- Load and unload products at customers’ homes, stores, or warehouses as needed.
- Assist in the warehouse or showroom when needed.
- Follow other instructions and perform other duties requested by a supervisor.
