About The Position
A Day in the Life It is the responsibility of the Dosimetrist to measure and calculate radiation doses and develop optimum arrangement of radiation fields and exposures to treat patients. Generates optimal computerized treatment plans. Works under the supervision of the Department Director in assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, supervising, or documenting the care of patients including those in the following age groups: young adult, adult and geriatric.
Requirements
- Graduate from a formal medical dosimetry program accredited by the JRCERT or foreign equivalent preferred (required for certification effective 2017)
- Certified by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB)
- Experience with Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy (IMRT) planning
- Experience with Volumetric Arc Therapy (VMAT)
- Experience with Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT)
- Experience with 3D planning
- Experience with brachytherapy
- Experience with mold room duties
