About The Position

The MIG Welder welds metal doors to specification using engineering documents and shop travelers. The role emphasizes getting work right the first time through quality workmanship, accountability, safety, and teamwork. The welder sets up and operates welding tools and machinery, maintains continuous workflow, and supports continuous improvements in safety, quality, 5S, and manufacturing processes. The position is in a fast-paced custom metal manufacturing environment.

Requirements

MIG welding certificate.
At least 3 years of manufacturing experience in a high-volume, fast-paced production environment.
Ability to read and understand engineering documents and shop travelers.
Ability to lay out and load materials using basic math and handheld measuring tools.
Knowledge of welding tool operation and maintenance.
Knowledge of and ability to apply welding-specific safety requirements.
Ability to perform manual and machine welding techniques.
Understanding of finished-product characteristics.
Dexterity with manufacturing equipment, basic power tools, and machinery.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Metalworking or hollow-metal fabrication experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate welding tools while following documented processes and maintaining continuous workflow.
Produce parts using the “top down” production list.
Adjust and operate machines to produce quality welds.
Assist with the daily preventive maintenance schedule for machines, manuals, and procedures.
Perform first-part inspections and in-process quality checks.
Support continuous improvements in safety, quality, 5S, and manufacturing processes.
Provide leadership with feedback on quality issues, productivity, and procedural changes.
Keep machines running and communicate issues that prevent product flow.
Follow company safety and conduct policies, including use and maintenance of company-provided PPE.
Participate in cross-training and learn other jobs or tasks within the facility.
Complete daily housekeeping to keep the work area clean and organized.
Work a flexible schedule in response to overtime and start-time needs based on work volume.
