Door Line Team Lead - 1st Shift
About The Position
Quanex is seeking a Door Line Team Lead for their Rice Lake, WI location. This role operates Monday-Friday from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, with overtime potential. The position offers a fast-paced environment with varied job tasks and is an opportunity to contribute to a company that lives its values. The Team Lead is expected to maintain a positive attitude, demonstrate excellent attendance, and be willing to assist colleagues. Success in this role involves conducting daily safety audits, ensuring proper PPE usage, and safe equipment operation. Strong leadership and communication are essential for fostering a cohesive team. The role requires collaboration across departments to resolve issues and ensure smooth operations, with a focus on consistently following quality procedures. The Team Lead will also be responsible for equipment set-up, troubleshooting, and assisting the supervisor with daily planning and scheduling. Regular 5S audits to maintain organization and tool availability are also part of the responsibilities.
Requirements
- Mechanical skills
- Attention to detail
- Experience operating manufacturing machinery
- Experience with lock out/tag out (LOTO)
- Understanding of how to use machine guarding

Responsibilities
- Conducts daily safety audits and ensures all employees are wearing appropriate PPE and operating safely
- Exhibits strong leadership and communication skills, fostering a cohesive team environment
- Collaborates across departments to resolve conflicts and facilitate smooth operations
- Understands quality expectations and collaborates with all team members to ensure that quality procedures are consistently followed
- Performs set-up and troubleshoots all equipment and products in the department
- Assists the supervisor with the daily planning and scheduling activities
- Conducts regular 5S audits, ensuring the department is organized and tools are readily available
