About The Position

Special-Lite is seeking a Door Design Detailer to join our Sales Operations team in Decatur, MI. This individual is responsible for creating shop sheets and drawings to ensure our production team builds doors and frames according to order specifications. This individual works closely with our customers and production team members to ensure product accuracy and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented and is precise, organized, patient, observant, and analytical, with the ability to focus deeply on tasks and manage time effectively. The ideal candidate is good at math, enjoys learning and problem solving and works well under pressure with a high sense of urgency.

Requirements

High school diploma/ GED or equivalent education and experience.
The ability to perform basic algebra.
The ability to learn specialized software.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Applications.
Excellent attention to detail.
Effective verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a team with internal and external customers.
Proven ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects with minor variations, and meet deadlines.
Ability to use phones, copiers, and scanners (office machines).
Ability to use or knowledge of measuring devices ruler, tape measure, micrometer, caliper.
Demonstrated ability to be flexible and respond to changing business demands.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with construction division 8 products and terminology is a plus.

Responsibilities

Creates work orders for the production team using drawings and order forms supplied by customers.
Works with customers to provide them with the correct product for their application.
Reads and translates hardware templates.
Modifies, copies, and stores documents using software and hardware.
Communicates with internal and external customers via email, phone and in-person.
