Responsible for preparing the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis processors. This role involves preparing the autopheresis machine, monitoring the donor and the pheresis process, responding to alarms, and disconnecting the donor upon completion. The technician must maintain awareness of donor reactions, record incidents using a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA), and ensure accurate data recording in the electronic donor information management system. The role also includes maintaining a clean work environment, ensuring sufficient supplies, and adhering to Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) policies. Confidentiality of information is paramount. Bilingual skills may be required, and the technician may be cross-trained in other areas. Performs job-related duties as assigned.
