About The Position

The Donor Relations Coordinator serves as a key member of the Advancement team and plays an important role in strengthening philanthropic support for Landis Communities. This individual manages a portfolio of annual and mid-level donors, cultivating meaningful relationships that inspire generosity and long-term engagement with the mission. Through strategic donor cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, annual giving initiatives, and prospect identification, the Donor Relations Coordinator helps grow charitable support while prioritizing the donor experience. Working collaboratively across the organization, this position advances a culture of philanthropy and identifies opportunities to connect donors with the transformative work of Landis Communities.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in recordkeeping with a commitment to accuracy, completeness and confidentiality.
  • Demonstrates strong detail-orientation and ability to manipulate numbers and data.
  • Proficient in use of computer and related technology required for the role.
  • Good verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Able to work independently, well-organized, and can multi-task.
  • Demonstrates superior interpersonal skills necessary for building good relationships with various constituencies.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Manages and strategically advances a portfolio of mid-level donors and emerging major gift prospects through personal cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities.
  • Cultivates, solicits, and stewards donors through personal visits, phone conversations, tours, written communications, and other meaningful points of engagement.
  • Develops and implements individualized cultivation and solicitation strategies to increase donor retention, giving levels, and long-term commitment.
  • Documents all donor interactions, plans, and outcomes within the donor database in a timely manner.
  • Identifies and qualifies prospects for transition to major gift cultivation.
  • Identifies planned giving opportunities and refers prospects to the Director of Advancement as appropriate.
  • Develops and implements annual giving strategies designed to increase participation, donor retention, and revenue.
  • Manages all annual giving appeals from planning through execution, including donor segmentation, messaging development, scheduling, and metrics.
  • Works collaboratively with the Director of Advancement, Donor Services Coordinator, and Communications team to develop compelling fundraising communications.
  • Monitors and analyzes annual giving results and recommends strategy modifications to improve outcomes.
  • Manages monthly giving program.
  • Manages new donor recognition program.
  • Works with Director of Advancement to coordinate donor recognition and cultivation events and efforts.
  • Works with the Director of Advancement to establish annual goals, key performance indicators, and fundraising strategies for annual fund and mid-level donor program.
  • Participates in long-range advancement planning and campaign preparation efforts.
  • Builds productive relationships with departments throughout Landis Communities with the intent of increasing awareness of fundraising opportunities and strengthening a culture of philanthropy.
  • Assists with special projects, campaigns, and planned giving initiatives as assigned.
  • Additional responsibilities as needed.
