About The Position

STARS is seeking a Donor Portfolio Specialist to join their Foundation department at their Calgary base. This role is crucial in fostering relationships with allies and serving as an ambassador for STARS' life-saving mission. The Donor Portfolio Specialist will analyze donor giving patterns, retention, reactivation, capacity, affinity, and lifetime value to identify opportunities for increased engagement and revenue growth. They will also maintain dashboards, reports, and scorecards to support fundraising teams, provide insight-driven recommendations to enhance donor journeys, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of donor data. A key aspect of this role is translating complex data into clear, actionable insights for non-technical audiences.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Business, Statistics, Social Sciences, Nonprofit Management, or related field (equivalent experience considered).
5 years of experience in data analysis, fundraising analytics, CRM reporting, or related roles (nonprofit experience preferred).
Proficiency in CRM or donor database systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge NXT, Salesforce, Tessitura, etc.).
Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
Ability to communicate insights clearly and compellingly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Collaborative team player with a curiosity-driven, continuous improvement mindset.

Nice To Haves

Experience with segmentation, forecasting, and data modeling an asset.
Familiarity with SQL or other query languages is an advantage.

Responsibilities

Analyze donor giving patterns, retention, reactivation, capacity, affinity and lifetime value to identify opportunities for increased engagement and revenue growth.

Provide insight-driven recommendations to support execution of the fundraising strategy and enhance donor journeys.
Ensure accuracy and integrity of donor data through routine checks and collaboration with CRM/database administrators.
Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for non-technical audiences.
