About The Position

Goodwill Industries of Northwest North Carolina is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing employment and training services to help people find jobs and reach financial stability. Our Donations Sorters/Pricers are the "face of Goodwill" to the donors who make our work possible. They are team-oriented, friendly, and go out of their way to help donors. This role involves lifting incoming donations (up to 50 lbs.), evaluating merchandise, and pricing it appropriately. We seek individuals who prioritize work and enjoy meeting high expectations in a fast-paced environment. The position may include cross-training in areas such as operating a cash register, and hanging/inspecting/tagging textiles and clothing in a production-style setting. Receivers may occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and frequently lift and carry 10 to 35 pounds.

Requirements

Able to lift incoming donations (up to 50 lbs.).
Able to evaluate merchandise and price it appropriately.
Team-oriented.
Friendly.
Able to work most store hours, especially on evenings and weekends.
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Production or similar experience preferred.
Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Able to lift and carry 10 to 35 pounds frequently.

Nice To Haves

Cross-training in Cash Register, Hanging/Inspecting/Tagging textile & clothing in a production style setting.

Responsibilities

Greeting donors and unloading donated goods.
Providing friendly and informed customer service to donors, assisting with receipts.
Maintaining a safe and neat work environment, taking pride in the efficiency of their area.
Evaluating merchandise and pricing it appropriately.
Lifting incoming donations (up to 50 lbs.).
