Donations Ambassador - Driver
About The Position
Houston Habitat for Humanity is seeking a Donations Ambassador - Driver to join their team. This full-time, hourly position is responsible for retrieving donations from residential and corporate donors, serving as an ambassador for the Houston Habitat for Humanity Mission, and building customer and donor relationships through friendly and prompt service. The role also involves stocking merchandise, pricing items, and maintaining store cleanliness. Additional duties may include event support and brand awareness activities. The ideal candidate will be committed to the mission of Houston Habitat for Humanity and possess excellent customer service and communication skills.
Requirements
- Must be eligible to be added to Habitat vehicle insurance, requiring at least 5 years of driving experience and a favorable driving record.
- Able to train and pass a forklift training course.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Always presents a professional image.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Enthusiasm and commitment to always provide excellent customer service.
- Effective multi-tasking skills for a dynamic environment.
- Communicate mission of Habitat to all external clients.

Responsibilities
- Retrieve donations from residential and corporate donors during ReStore operating hours using Affiliate vehicles.
- Serve as an ambassador for the Houston Habitat for Humanity Mission.
- Build customer and donor relationships by providing friendly and prompt service.
- Stock merchandise, price items, and keep the store clean daily.
- Operate Affiliate Vehicles in a safe, lawful, and courteous manner.
- Maintain cleanliness of trucks (interior and exterior).
- Perform regular maintenance checks on trucks and equipment, reporting any concerns to supervisors.
- Load and unload donations safely and efficiently.
- Interact professionally and courteously with donors, showing utmost care for their personal property.
- Assist with donation processing and store needs when not assigned to truck duties.
- Train and pass a forklift training course.
- Assist with Habitat special events as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Donation Manager or Store Manager.
