About The Position

Wheeler Mission Ministries is a privately funded 501(c)3 non-profit, evangelical Christian ministry whose designated purpose is religious. We are a Christ-centered ministry which is dedicated to sharing the Gospel and helping those experiencing homelessness and those in need. Wheeler Mission Ministries considers every position one of ministry and a vital and valued part of our team. The Donation Processor is responsible for processing all donations from donors to retail through accepting, presorting, and pricing. They will provide excellent customer service to Wheeler Mission’s donors and show care and respect to all donations received.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or HSE
  • Verbal communication skills to communicate effectively with others.
  • Ability to learn how to manage time in payroll software
  • Belief in the inerrancy of the Holy Bible
  • Adherence to WM Employee Policies
  • Alignment with WM Core Values: Christ-Centered Purpose, Faithful Stewardship, Excellence, Grace and Truth
  • Stand for long periods of time
  • Kneel, stoop, twist, and bend-over frequently during the shift
  • Hold and grasp donated objects when loading and unloading donations.
  • Physical ability to perform normal office functions including sitting for prolonged periods of time and the endurance to remain standing for prolonged periods of time
  • Frequently lift and move donations up to 20 pounds.
  • Work in a warehouse environment that may expose workers to bright lights, extreme temperatures, loud noises, dust, and dirt.
  • Perform manual labor indoors and outdoors.
  • Post-offer acceptable background check required for all positions.
  • All employees must sign and adhere to WM Drugs and Alcohol policy and remain free from addiction to drugs or alcohol.
  • Candidates must submit to and pass a drug and/or alcohol test. This drug and/or alcohol testing may occur any time after the applicant receives a conditional offer of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • May occasionally supervise groups of volunteers at the donation center.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers for donation drop-off and assist with the unloading of donations.
  • Provide instructions for tax forms and offer assistance to donors as needed.
  • Always ensure a positive and helpful interaction with donors.
  • Inspect, sort, handle, price, and label donations for sale at the Thrift Store.
  • Recognize quality merchandise and effectively seek guidance on pricing from the Manager.
  • Maintain the presentation and organization of merchandise to enhance customer experience.
  • Operate pallet jacks and/or forklifts proficiently to move donations around the warehouse.
  • Maintain a safe and organized warehouse by following instructions given by managers and collaborating with team members.
  • Adhere to daily and weekly production goals while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • May be required to perform cashier functions at the Wheeler Mission Thrift Store as needed.
