About The Position

This position involves working all or various jobs in the warehouse related to the processing of donated goods. The role requires performing tasks such as presorting donations, moving materials, receiving goods from donors, maintaining donation records, packing seasonal items, filling store shipment requirements, removing trash, and maintaining a clean work environment. The associate will also be responsible for grading textiles and hardlines, ensuring compliance with production standards, and demonstrating positive customer interactions. Adherence to safety procedures and support of the agency safety program are crucial. The role contributes to the overall mission by completing related assignments as needed.

Requirements

  • HS diploma/GED or any job-related experience that will provide the necessary knowledge, skill, and abilities to be able to perform the essential functions of the position.
  • Possess good eyesight and color definition.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to quickly assess goods and determine appropriate routing.
  • Functional reading and writing skills.
  • Ability to use hand truck.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule determined by store needs; typical retail hours to include evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Presort donations into categories including textiles, hardline goods, and trash.
  • Move materials from workstation to workstation.
  • Receive donated goods from donors, assist with unloading and carrying donations, and offer receipts.
  • Maintain accurate daily records of total donors.
  • Pack seasonal items in containers and label them.
  • Participate in filling store shipment requirements and complete related paperwork.
  • Remove trash from the warehouse and transport it to disposal containers.
  • Keep all workstations and warehouse areas clean and neat.
  • Grade textiles and hardlines to meet store expectations and company production standards.
  • Ensure compliance with store expectations by maintaining consistent productivity and meeting company production goals.
  • Meet store performance expectations and maintain productivity in alignment with company production standards.
  • Demonstrate consistent positive behavior with internal and external customers and professionally communicate donation policies.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous image when dealing with the public.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and wear required safety equipment.
  • Continually support the agency safety program and contribute to customer and employee safety.
  • Responsible for stores maintaining production model as established by DGR leadership.
  • Accomplish retail and organizational mission by completing related assignments as needed.
