About The Position

The Donation Express Attendant provides customer service at a donation center by receiving donated items, issuing donation receipts, sorting donations, and helping load donations for transport. The role includes opening and closing the center and following organizational policies, safety requirements, and cleanliness standards. The position involves work both indoors and outdoors and requires extended periods of standing or walking, lifting and moving items, and working in environments with exposure to weather, dust, dirt, electricity, noise, fumes, and chemicals.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds independently and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Vision abilities including close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to focus.
• Ability to stand or walk for long periods.
• Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, push, and pull.
• Sufficient mobility to turn side to side, lean, and remove items from containers.

Nice To Haves

• Previous retail and/or stock handling experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the donation center.
• Greet donors courteously, respectfully, and professionally.
• Receive donations and issue receipts regardless of the size or number of items donated.
• Assist donors with lifting items in and out of their vehicles.
• Sort donations in accordance with GICF policies and procedures.
• Follow safety and cleanliness standards.
• Assist with loading GICF trucks with donated items as needed.
