About The Position

The Donation Center Attendant is responsible for ensuring donor and customer delight, managing donated items, maintaining the donation site, and adhering to company policies and safety procedures. This role involves direct interaction with donors, sorting and categorizing donations, maintaining inventory, and assisting with transportation needs. The attendant must work safely and communicate effectively with leadership and peers.

Requirements

  • Ability to greet donors in a prompt, friendly, and courteous manner within 10 seconds.
  • Ability to unload donations from vehicles.
  • Ability to offer tax receipts.
  • Ability to maintain accurate daily counts of donations.
  • Understanding of the stewardship of donated items.
  • Ability to break down donations into categories.
  • Ability to maintain site in accordance with image and safety standards.
  • Ability to order and maintain supplies efficiently and securely.
  • Adherence to all Memphis Goodwill and personnel policies and procedures.
  • Follows good safety and security practices.
  • Ability to report safety hazards and injuries.
  • Ensures proper accuracy of donor tracking and counts.
  • Ensures proper use and accurately reporting of on-hand equipment.
  • Works in a safe manner.
  • Adheres to proper handling of material movement equipment.
  • Communicates any safety hazards or concerns.
  • Ability to assist the Transportation team with delivery and pickup of equipment.
  • Performs duties within the framework of Guiding Principles.
  • Communicates with trainers and leadership on opportunities.
  • Supports ADC peers on specific duties.
  • Attends in-service and related training as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures 100% donor and customer delight.
  • Greets donors promptly and courteously, unloads donations, offers tax receipts, and maintains accurate daily counts.
  • Manages donated items, ensuring they remain property of Memphis Goodwill and are not used personally.
  • Breaks down donations into categories.
  • Maintains drive-through and ADC site according to image and safety standards.
  • Orders and maintains supplies efficiently and securely.
  • Adheres to Memphis Goodwill policies, procedures, and safety practices, reporting hazards and injuries.
  • Ensures accuracy of donor tracking and counts.
  • Ensures proper use and accurate reporting of on-hand equipment.
  • Works safely, adheres to proper material handling, and communicates safety concerns.
  • Assists the Transportation team with equipment delivery and pickup when possible.
  • Performs duties within the framework of Guiding Principles.
  • Communicates site opportunities to trainers and leadership, and supports peers.
  • May be asked to participate in activities outside of Goodwill.
  • Attends in-service and related training as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by ADC or Operations Leadership.
