About The Position

The Donation Center Attendant is responsible for receiving donations from donors, tracking and weighing them, and sharing information about the charity partners and the organization's mission. This role involves working in various weather conditions, both indoors and outdoors, and requires a commitment to working safely and efficiently. The attendant will also be involved in loading and unloading trailers and donation boxes, as well as maintaining a neat and presentable donation area. The team works together to care for donated items and provide treasures for customers, combining a passion for donors and community service.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Provide outstanding customer service to all donors
  • Be organized and able to keep the donations area neat and presentable

Responsibilities

  • Receive donations from donors
  • Track and weigh donations
  • Share information about charity partners and the organization's mission with donors and customers
  • Work in heat, cold, and wet weather conditions
  • Work safely and efficiently in loading and unloading trailers and donation boxes
  • Accept donated clothing, shoes, and household goods through the drive-thru at the Fixed Donation Center
  • Engage with donors and communicate the impact of donations on the community, partners, and planet
  • Interact with truck drivers and other team members to organize and recycle donations in an indoor and outdoor situation
  • Help sustain and maintain a clean and orderly Fixed Donation Center, based on company operational standards
  • Work safely and efficiently in loading and unloading donor vehicles and box trucks
  • Load and unload carts
  • Inspect and sort clothing, shoes, and other items
  • Prep and organize products for recycling
  • Perform other duties as assigned by a working supervisor
