About The Position

The Salvation Army is seeking a Donation Attendant to maintain and clean the donation area, assist donors, sort donations, and maintain reports. This role requires a high school graduate or equivalent, strong communication and customer service skills, and the ability to work independently. The position involves both indoor and outdoor work in an environment that can be noisy and exposed to outdoor elements.

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent required
• Ability to communicate effectively with employees and donors
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
• Ability to provide good customer service to donors.

Nice To Haves

• Previous customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and clean up the area in and around the donation trailer/pod at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Courteously assist the donor in the removal of all donated items from the donor’s vehicle and provide receipt.
• Maintain all reports and paperwork as instructed by the Supervisor.
• Separate and sort all donated material into the proper containers, and properly stack material as instructed by Supervisor.
• Assist TSA drivers/PAs with loading donations on to trucks as necessary.
• Inform Supervisor of needed items prior to running out (i.e.: brooms, receipts, totes, carts, etc.).
• At the end of each shift, the Donation Attendant must secure and lock the area.
• Maintain good working relations with property or store managers.
• Other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned, from time to time, by Supervisor.
