About The Position

Processing donated materials for shipping and/or storage. This role involves preparing donated goods for shipment to Goodwill stores, the E-commerce Department, or for temporary storage, while meeting daily quantity and quality goals. The position also includes assisting with training other employees, maintaining a neat and safe work area, and performing other duties as assigned. The role requires adherence to Goodwill's Values Statement, which includes Respect, Integrity, Compassion, Stewardship, Learning, Teamwork, and Entrepreneurial Spirit. Employees are expected to report any wrongdoing or unethical conduct and to not hinder or retaliate against employees making reports or work injury claims. Requirements

  • Needs to have basic level of reading and writing.
  • Skill in communicating in spoken conversation - adequate volume speech.
  • Skill in writing, reading and mathematics.
  • Visual acuity, depth perception, field of vision within normal range and accurate color vision.
  • Ability to perceive size, discrimination, temperature, shapes, and/or textures.
  • Normal hearing required for conversation, telephone use, and emergency information systems.
  • Be able to move safely about work area and be ambulatory on all surfaces and situations.
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs., frequently lifting twentyfive pounds.
  • push, pull up to 800 lbs. an average of 4 times per day with a pallet jack or power jack.
  • Bilateral use of hands for repetitive single grasp and release tasks and fine manipulation.
  • Ability to stand at least 4 hours per day and physical stamina to work up to 8 hours per day.
  • Have full active range of motion of all extremities, ability to reach above and below shoulders, ability to bend/squat, twist, kneel at least 15 times per hour.
  • Ability to tolerate heat and humidity up to 91 degrees.
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift to move product.
  • Ability to change routine in a positive manner.
  • Ability to follow through on assignments independently and have good organizational skills.
  • Work output must be at a competitive level.
  • Ability to solve problems as they arise and participate in decision making.
  • Adequate coping skills.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in an effort to maintain a safe work environment and ability to respond appropriately to emergency situations.

Responsibilities

  • To process and prepare donated goods for shipment to our Goodwill stores, E-commerce Department, or for temporary storage.
  • To meet daily goals both quantity and quality.
  • Assist with training of other employees who may be needed to do the same or similar work.
  • Keep work area neat, orderly and free of safety hazards (i.e. keep aisle ways clear, keep floor free of items which may be slip or fall hazards, etc.).
  • Assist in retail stores as needed.
  • Perform work activities in conformance to Goodwill Values Statement which includes the values of Respect, Integrity, Compassion, Stewardship, Learning, Teamwork and Entrepreneurial Spirit.
  • Immediately report any wrongdoing, unethical or improper conduct, fraud, fiscal mismanagement or misappropriation of funds, etc. (Refer to the Corporate Compliance Program Policy and Procedure for instructions on how to report.)
  • Encourage and do not hinder in any way an employee making a report pertaining to Goodwills Corporate Compliance Program Policy and Procedure or making a report of work injury.
  • Ensure no employee is retaliated against in any way as a result of making a report related to Goodwills Corporate Compliance Program Policy and Procedure or making a report of work injury.
