About The Position

Therapist is responsible for providing diagnostic assessments, therapy, counseling, and support services to individuals assigned to his/her caseload.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field preferred
  • Meet all necessary state licensure requirements for NJ
  • Experience providing treatment to victims of domestic violence
  • Minimum of one-year therapy experience in an outpatient or in-home setting.
  • Must have experience with utilizing short-term therapy modalities.
  • Knowledgeable of the DSM-5
  • Must obtain personal liability insurance upon hiring
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to actively listen
  • Solid relationship-building capabilities
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • A positive and compassionate attitude
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize needs
  • Willingness to stay updated on new treatments, protocols, and licensure requirements within the field
  • Passion for advancing in the mental health field

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and Conduct regular appointments with clients
  • Able to conduct individual, family, couples, and group sessions
  • Establish positive and trusting relationships with clients
  • Implement various treatments and protocols to provide guidance and appropriately address client needs
  • Ability to accurately diagnose based on client’s symptoms
  • Continually assess client situations and provide the proper ongoing treatments
  • Educate and involve family members or other loved ones in the treatment process when necessary
  • Collaborate with outside agencies, as necessary, to ensure continuity of care
  • Record and maintain adequate documentation (intake forms, biopsychosocial assessment, treatment plans, progress notes, mental health inventories, etc.)
  • Maintain neat and organized client files and workspace
  • When required, refer clients to outside sources or agencies that can better address their specific needs
  • Maintain the strictest confidentiality of each client
  • Maintain all required licenses
  • Provide mental health related trainings and attend community meetings as needed
  • Participate in weekly supervision and staff meetings
  • Assist with outreach efforts
