The Richmond County District Attorney’s Office is seeking an experienced Assistant District Attorney to share the dedication, commitment, and passion for the agency’s mission. Under the general supervision of the Chief of Domestic Violence Bureau, the selected candidate will be responsible for the supervision and management of the Domestic Violence Bureau. This includes overseeing the complaint room, screening new cases, reviewing complaints and charges, and ensuring thorough investigation and paperwork by the NYPD. The role involves reviewing, assigning, and conferencing cases with misdemeanor and felony ADAs, supervising felony cases in the Grand Jury, training on witness preparation and Grand Jury practice, and conducting pre-indictment negotiations. The Deputy Bureau Chief will also second seat hearings and trials, assist ADAs with preparation, and maintain a high-level felony caseload within the Domestic Violence Bureau. Additionally, the position requires attending meetings as a representative of the Bureau and office with NYPD, the Family Justice Center (FJC), criminal justice partners, and outside agencies, acting as a liaison on policy and specific issues. Other duties may be assigned by the Chief of Domestic Violence.
