About The Position

Every day, our teams provide compassionate care and support to individuals and families across Connecticut through behavioral health, substance use, domestic violence, housing, and community-based services. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Domestic Violence Case Manager to join our Umbrella Center for Domestic Violence Services (UCDVS) team. In this role, you will provide trauma-informed advocacy, case management, safety planning, and support services to survivors of domestic violence who have been identified as being at high risk for serious harm. Your work will empower individuals and families, help connect them to critical community resources, and support their path toward safety and stability. Candidates must reside in Connecticut to be eligible for this position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention, advocacy, counseling, and case management practices.
  • Understanding of community resources and ability to connect clients with support services.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Connecticut Domestic Violence Counselor Certification in accordance with state requirements.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, acceptable driving record, and ability to transport clients as needed.
  • Two years of advocacy, victim services, or direct service experience working with survivors of domestic violence in a community-based setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide trauma-informed case management, crisis intervention, supportive counseling, advocacy, and ongoing outreach to survivors of domestic violence, including individuals identified through the Lethality Assessment Program (LAP) as being at high risk.
  • Partner with clients to create personalized safety and service plans using tools such as the Danger Assessment and VIGOR assessments.
  • Connect individuals and families with housing, healthcare, behavioral health, legal, employment, childcare, transportation, education, and other community resources.
  • Support parents and children through safety planning, parent education, and child development education.
  • Coordinate referrals, advocate with community partners, accompany law enforcement when appropriate, and assist with transportation for shelter access and case management services.
