About The Position

The Illinois Soybean Association (ISA) is seeking a Domestic Market Development Manager to support and enhance the work of its Market Development department. This department is responsible for managing contracts, special initiatives, coalitions, and relationships with various supporters and stakeholders. The role involves leading projects, working with industry organizations, managing communications, and overseeing infrastructure-related initiatives within the soybean industry.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Five to seven years relevant work experience.
  • Able to work independently or cooperatively with others on a team.
  • Ability to analyze problems, develop a path toward problem solving, and manage the process to completion.
  • Capacity to make decisions and communication with tact and professionalism.
  • Strong multi-tasking skills with a comfort in maintaining multiple, often conflicting priorities.
  • Strong written and oral communications.
  • Demonstrates working knowledge in MS Office, word processing, database, web application and spreadsheets.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in animal agriculture, agriculture business, or business is preferred.
  • Experience with animal ag issues, trade & exports, and chemistry/materials science is highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Lead interdepartmental team and outside contractors on domestic specific market development projects.
  • Work with state and national animal and aquaculture production organizations to support top soy consuming industries.
  • Work with the ISA communications team to manage ISA’s messaging and engagement around domestic market development topics.
  • Lead projects funded by ISA on infrastructure related to the soybean industry including but not limited to transportation and Technology.
  • Support Soy Innovation Center (SIC) output integration across market development projects where appropriate including the International Commercialization Initiative (ICI).
  • Support annual Springboard Challenge and related commercialization efforts. This includes managing relationships with project partner organizations, researchers, and investors.
  • Develop budgets, review project ideas, manage project and contract status working with an internal database.
  • Manage multiple projects with varying timelines and specific deliverables needed for each.
