About The Position

Vesta Home (dba Showroom Group) is seeking a Domestic Buyer to manage the domestic side of the company's product pipeline, primarily for core staging but expanding into interior design and other business lines. This role is crucial for ensuring Vesta's warehouses are project-ready and that inventory levels are consistently maintained across all markets. The Domestic Buyer will work closely with the Director of Supply Chain to identify inventory gaps left by the international pipeline, build and manage a network of wholesale and liquidation vendors, oversee direct procurement of standard domestic items, and ensure a steady flow of soft goods and decorative accessories. This is a fast-paced, cross-functional role requiring strong planning, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree preferred, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5–7 years of buying, merchandising, or procurement experience.
  • Furniture, home goods, or textiles industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience sourcing through wholesale, closeout, or liquidation channels.
  • Track record managing vendor relationships end-to-end: sourcing, negotiation, purchase orders, and performance management.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets.
  • Comfort working with inventory planning, OTB, and purchase order systems.
  • Excellent negotiation, organization, and relationship-management skills.
  • Ability to move quickly and decisively on time-sensitive, gap-fill purchasing opportunities.

  • Experience supporting multiple warehouses or markets simultaneously is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Director of Supply Chain to align on inventory needs, international supply chain status, and identify domestic inventory gaps.
  • Translate demand forecasts and project pipelines into concrete domestic purchase plans.
  • Track bulk domestic purchase order status and ETAs, proactively flagging delays.
  • Build and expand a robust network of wholesale, closeout, and liquidation vendors.
  • Assess liquidation offerings for alignment with existing assortment and opportunistic buys.
  • Vet new vendors on quality, pricing, reliability, MOQs, lead time, and payment terms.
  • Negotiate pricing and terms with vendors to protect margin and meet speed-to-fulfillment requirements.
  • Maintain an organized vendor database.
  • Own end-to-end procurement of standard, direct-buy domestic items like mattresses and bedding.
  • Set and maintain reorder points and par levels for standard items in each warehouse.
  • Manage the full purchase order lifecycle for standard domestic items.
  • Coordinate with warehouse and operations teams on receiving and stock visibility for standard items.
  • Maintain a roster of suppliers for ready, in-stock soft goods and accessories.
  • Partner with the Director of Supply Chain and Creative Directors by market to align sourcing with local design aesthetics and staging calendars.
  • Establish a steady receiving cadence by market and monitor usage to adjust reorder timing.
  • Review vendor proposals and product samples, assessing quality, design, and value.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, lead times, and order quantities with all domestic vendors.
  • Collaborate with merchandising, design, and operations teams to ensure the domestic assortment supports cross-functional needs.
  • Stay current on market trends to identify new product and vendor opportunities.
  • Collaborate with leaders in additional lines of business (Interior Design, Direct Furniture Sales) to centralize domestic procurement.
  • Provide clear, recurring reporting on gap status, buys placed, and open risks.
