About The Position

Barkside Lodge is seeking an experienced Part-Time Dog Kennel Attendant to join their team in Lenoir City, TN. This role involves providing a safe, clean, and enjoyable experience for canine guests, including monitoring their health and well-being, cleaning facilities, supervising play, and providing special care for senior dogs or those with special needs. The position requires a genuine enjoyment of working with dogs and a commitment to outstanding animal care. Barkside Lodge is a locally owned business that offers boarding, doggy day camp, grooming services, and a doggie swim center, priding itself on personalized care for each pet.

Requirements

At least 1 year of experience working as a kennel attendant, kennel technician, dog daycare attendant, or in another animal care role
High school diploma or equivalent
Strong understanding of dog behavior, body language, and breed characteristics
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically active environment
Availability to work weekends, holidays, and maintain open weekday availability

Responsibilities

Greeting each day by checking on the health, comfort, and well-being of every canine guest
Cleaning and sanitizing kennels, play yards, and common areas to maintain a safe environment
Supervising group play and encouraging safe, positive interactions between dogs
Providing fresh water and monitoring each dog's behavior throughout the day
Giving additional care and attention to senior dogs and pets with special needs
Working closely with your teammates to ensure every dog receives exceptional care from arrival to departure
