Dog Bather Full-Time; Part-Time
About The Position
We are seeking a dependable, compassionate, and detail-oriented Dog Bather to join our grooming team at Barkaritaville Pet Resort. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working hands-on with dogs, takes pride in quality work, and thrives in a fast-paced pet care environment. Dog bathing experience is preferred, but we are willing to train motivated individuals with strong animal-handling skills and a positive attitude. This role includes bathing, blow drying, brushing, nail trimming, ear cleaning, coat preparation, and maintaining pet comfort and safety throughout the grooming process. Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential, as appointments are scheduled weeks in advance. For team members interested in advancing their career, opportunities for grooming education and hands-on grooming training may be available.
Requirements
- Dog bathing or professional animal handling experience preferred
- Ability to safely handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments
- Comfortable working in a physically active environment
- Strong reliability, punctuality, and attendance record
- Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
- Passion for animal care and pet wellness
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn grooming software
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Weekend availability is required if you are not able to work at least alternate weekends and prior to holidays we kindly ask that you DO NOT APPLY.
- Genuine enjoyment working with animals and people
- Ability to stay calm under pressure
- Understanding of the importance of patience, gentle handling, and consistency in pet care
- Ability to help create a welcoming, professional, and positive environment for clients, pets, and coworkers alike.

Responsibilities
- Bathe, brush, and blow-dry dogs of all breeds and sizes
- Prepare coats for grooming services
- Safely trim nails and clean ears
- Gently de-tangle and de-matt coats while prioritizing pet comfort
- Safely handle dogs with varying temperaments and energy levels
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of grooming areas and equipment
- Launder and organize towels and grooming supplies
- Walk dogs and clean up after pets as needed
- Print and manage grooming worksheets using company software
- Support a positive experience for both pets and clients
