About The Position

Morris Animal Inn is a family-owned, award-winning pet resort with multiple locations in North New Jersey. We specialize in providing top-tier pet lodging, grooming, training, and daycare services. We are now hiring a Part-Time Dog Bather at our Montville facility. This is a year-round position — not a seasonal role. This is a year-round, part-time position averaging 20–25 hours per week. Shift lengths are determined by business needs and operational scheduling. Candidates must be available to start their shift as early as 7:00 AM on weekdays and be available to work between the hours of 8 AM- 4 PM on Saturdays and Sundays. Availability to work on some holidays is also required. Starting rate is $16.00-$17.00/hour, based on prior professional pet care experience. No prior professional experience is required—but a natural comfort around dogs of all sizes is essential! This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in a career in dog grooming! Employees may qualify for our Education Assistance Program to support earning a professional dog grooming certification.

Requirements

  • Comfort and confidence handling dogs of all breeds and sizes, from the teacup type to the 'are you sure that's not a horse?' and everything in between.
  • Willingness to perform cleaning duties related to animal care
  • Team-oriented mindset with strong time management skills
  • Ability to stand/walk for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English to follow safety protocols, interact with pet owners, and maintain accurate records
  • Weekend and some holiday availability is required

Responsibilities

  • Bathing, drying, and brushing dogs using company-provided professional tools and products
  • Cleaning ears, trimming nails, and brushing teeth
  • Monitoring dogs for safety throughout the grooming process
  • Maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment
  • Collaborating with team members to ensure a positive experience for pets and their owners
  • Gathering information from pet owners and updating pet records
