About The Position

The Doffer Assistant (PFC) is responsible for maintaining the bobbins by removing full ones and replacing them with empty ones to ensure continuous yarn winding. This role involves adjusting tooling and processing parameters to meet product specifications, monitoring for defects and machine malfunctions, and ensuring compliance with safety procedures and sanitation regulations. The primary goal is to maintain safety, food safety, and quality standards to minimize workplace hazards and immediately report any incidents or unsafe conditions. Tasks include manually removing and replacing bobbins, threading yarn, identifying and removing wrapped yarn, and ensuring proper labeling and documentation of products. The position requires performing all tasks with urgency and accuracy, filling out production reports diligently, and maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Requirements

  • Ability to work independently.
  • Mechanical ability to run equipment and use small hand tools.
  • Basic math and measuring ability.
  • Ability to identify and address small issues with yarn placement.
  • Mental alertness to identify and react to machine process, quality, and safety issues.
  • Ability to be organized, multitask, and keep up in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on producing high-quality output in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Able to read and write.
  • Must be knowledgeable of GMPs, FSSC 22000:2005 and HACCP.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred experience in plastics manufacturing.
  • Preferred experience in machinery operations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining bobbins by removing full ones and replacing them with empty ones.
  • Transferring yarn so winding can continue.
  • Adjusting tooling and processing parameters to meet product specifications.
  • Monitoring for defects and machine malfunctions.
  • Ensuring safety procedures and sanitation regulations are followed.
  • Manually removing bobbins one by one from the winder and replacing them with empty bobbins.
  • Manually placing bobbins using air guns and scissors.
  • Threading yarn positions.
  • Identifying and removing yarn that has wrapped around rollers or other parts of the machine.
  • Removing tubes from the machine as needed to maintain continuous production.
  • Ensuring proper labeling and documentation of packed products.
  • Performing all tasks with a sense of urgency and accuracy.
  • Filling out production reports with accuracy and attention.
  • Following housekeeping standards.
  • Maintaining the work area organized and clean.
  • Following safety policies and sanitation regulations.
  • Conducting other duties as assigned by management.
