The Argonne InterQNet project aims to develop a heterogeneous quantum network. As a part of this effort the candidate will contribute to the Argonne Simulator of Quantum Communication (SeQUeNCe); a discrete-event simulator for quantum networks designed to model the performance of quantum network architectures and protocols. This work will involve two components: software development and research. First, the candidate will contribute to the simulator to enhance the functionality and usability of SeQUenCe to aim to improve community adoption and functionality. Second, the candidate will assist in research which uses the simulator to realize the dynamics of new quantum network architectures and protocols. The candidate will be supervised by the SeQUeNCe development team from the Data Science and Learning (DSL) with in Argonne National Laboratory, Northwestern University, and the University of Chicago.
