About The Position

Argonne’s Rapid Prototyping Laboratory (RPL) is dedicated to advancing autonomous discovery in the physical sciences through robotics and instrument integration. As a summer intern in the RPL, your project will focus on developing software solutions for integrating sensors, scientific instruments, or other devices into the RPL’s existing software ecosystem, known as MADSci (Modular Autonomous Discovery for Science). The topic of your internship should support the RPL’s mission, but we will do our best to align it with your interests. Your contributions over the summer will support Argonne’s Autonomous Discovery Initiative and help establish closed-loop experiments across multiple scientific domains on Argonne’s campus. Education and Experience Requirements The entirety of the appointment must be conducted within the United States. Must be 18 years or older at the time the appointment begins. Applicants must be: ‒Currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate studies at an accredited institution ‒Graduated from an accredited institution within the past 3 months; or ‒Actively enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited institution
