About The Position

This is a 100% onsite, one-year full-time contract position with the possibility of extension, located in Tallahassee, FL. The scheduled work hours are between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM. The primary focus of this role is instructional design and computer-based training (CBT) development. The specialist will be responsible for designing and developing engaging CBTs using Articulate 360 and Adobe Captivate, incorporating scenario-based learning, adult learning theory, and instructional design best practices. Additionally, the role involves creating graphics using Canva, Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator, and producing/editing audio and video content using Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Captivate, and Articulate 360. The specialist will also be expected to independently create storyboards, manage project schedules and workloads, communicate effectively with team members, and support special initiatives for the agency and Organizational Development Office.

Requirements

• 1 to 2 years of experience and/or working knowledge of instructional design, curriculum development, adult education, performance improvement, graphic design, or multimedia related subjects.
• Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, curriculum development, adult education, graphic/digital design, or related fields.
• Proficiency in multimedia development tools, specifically Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Captivate, and Articulate 360.
• Knowledge of instructional design, adult learning, creative design trends, and 508 Electronic and Information Technology Standards.
• Skill in utilizing the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, data analysis, and decision-making capabilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with customers, colleagues, and project teams.
• High level of initiative to organize workloads, meet deadlines, and monitor situations with minimal direction.
• Adaptability and flexibility to receive constructive criticism, embrace process changes, and maintain positive relationships.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop CBTs using engaging activities, quizzes, and interactions via Articulate 360 and Adobe Captivate.
• Apply scenario-based learning techniques, adult learning theory, and instructional design best practices.
• Create compelling graphics (logos, banners, flyers, job aids) using Canva, Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator.
• Create and edit audio and video for websites and CBTs using Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Captivate, and Articulate 360.
• Independently create storyboards, follow project schedules, manage workloads, and communicate effectively with team members.
• Support special initiatives for the agency and Organizational Development Office.
