About The Position

This role requires an individual with exceptional attention to detail and a strong understanding of rules, protocols, guidelines, procedures, and standards, particularly within the Regulatory and Food Manufacturing industry. The specialist will ensure product compliance with regulations and that ingredients meet the highest standards. The ideal candidate is proactive, a problem-solver, and values both individual work and collaboration. They are meticulous, ensuring accuracy in all documentation and processes.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of regulatory or labeling in either a food-manufacturing environment and/or food or beverage consumer packaged goods (CPG) required
  • Strong foundation in FDA food labeling regulations required

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in supplier management software such as TraceGains and experience in nutritional software is strongly preferred
  • Degree in Food Science, Nutrition (such as biology, chemistry or physics, etc.) or related discipline a plus
  • Experience with shelf-stable and temperature-sensitive products is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Manage, approve, and maintain raw material documentation for accuracy and relevant regulatory information.
  • Lead certification documentation and submissions for certifications such as NonGMO Project, GFCO, Whole30, Organic, etc.
  • Oversee and organize inbound documentation requests from cross-functional teams.
  • Develop and approve ingredient statements and nutritional information for all products to comply with federal, state, customer, and company food labeling regulations and requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality, R&D, Operations, and Brand to gather and verify regulatory requirements and needs.
  • Maintain Regulatory alignment with manufacturing and external partners through clear communication and documentation.
  • Maintain digital tools, software, and databases for efficient regulatory document management and reporting, building new processes as needed.
  • Assist with training and guidance on documentation requirements to cross-functional teams.
  • Support and provide expertise to new product development and innovation activities; manage close communication with team members from Product Development, R&D, Growth, Quality, Procurement, Legal, and Customer Delight.
  • Maintain the finished goods specification database by creating and updating new specs as assigned.
  • Monitor nutrition, regulatory changes, and enforcement trends for supported markets including dietary habits, upcoming ingredients, dietary trends; evaluating impact and communicating to cross functional teams.
  • Support in label artwork reviews and approvals, ensuring regulatory compliance prior to commercialization.
