The Documentation Analyst conducts account onboarding review and analysis of new and existing customers adhering to all US regulatory requirements; approves account relationships and account maintenance; conducts CDD annual reviews; maintains department’s log, and file management. Requirements

• Ability to operate IBM compatible personal computers; fluency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint at an intermediate level and ability to use other software as follows: (1) Datapro - IBS, (2) Sydel/Complixpert System, (3) BSA Radar, (4) IDOC, (5) Salesforce (6) Laserfiche, (7) LexisNexis/Worldcompliance
• Bachelor’s degree (B.A) or equivalent from four-year college or technical school equivalent in a related field of study.
• A minimum of three to four years of BSA/AML analyst experience in the banking industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of banking laws and regulations; Bank Secrecy Act and USA Patriot Act is required.
• Ability to understand, speak, read and write English and Spanish (at least Intermediate level)

Nice To Haves

• FIBA AML certification and/or any other BSA related certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all US regulatory requirements
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with branch’s policies and procedures as related to the processes conducted
• Account Onboarding (Existing Relationships): Receive, review and analyze account opening documentation within established SLAs (transactional and non-transactional accounts)
• Approve acceptance of relationships except those that require compliance independent review (Financial institutions with Trade related products)
• Account maintenance: Review and approve all sensitive information presented for account maintenance such as changes to company’s structure and validation against legal documentation. (Documents and bank’s core system)
• CDD Update: Review and corroborate information provided for CDD updates for low, moderate and high risk accounts in accordance with regulatory guidelines and internal requirements; including updates in the bank's core system.
• System Approval: Approve all new customers and accounts in the system. Approve account maintenance for all existing accounts regardless of their risk. If needed, assist with the processing of the update or creation of a customer/account.
• Logs: Maintain department logs current meeting department’s SLA (48 hours) for audit trail; such as CDDs, Documentation Pending Items, New Customers, etc.
• Special Projects: assist with projects as required by management or bank
• Must have common sense, be organized and possess strong analytical and ethical skills
• Must exercise discretion and independent judgment.
• Must have the ability to take initiative and problem solving skills in order to resolve matters that affect the overall department’s deadlines.
• Must have regular and predictable attendance and work the hours and/or shifts assigned, particularly during regular business hours, to communicate with colleagues, supervisors, and customers with whom interaction is required to accomplish and complete work assignments and meet company goals within established deadlines
• Must provide timely and appropriate responses to requests for information and/or customer complaints or concerns and provide appropriate follow up to ensure issues are resolved.
• Must maintain courteous, professional and effective internal and external working relationships.
• Must receive and provide clear, constructive feedback in a cooperative and professional manner, as well as, recommendations and reports for improvements.
• Ability to understand, speak, read and write English and Spanish (at least Intermediate level)
• Effectively speaking before groups of customers or employees
• Assume evolving duties and responsibilities of position
• Work all hours required to fulfill job duties and responsibilities (including, weekends, evenings and holidays as needed)
• Travel as required
• Provide coverage for other positions as requested
• Ability to carry and lift boxes and objects that may weigh between 10 and 25 pounds.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management
