About The Position

As a Documentation Specialist on our space production team, you will be actively involved with the review of hardware and documentation prior to presentation to final inspection. You will work alongside the Technicians/Mechanics that will be assembling, testing, and repairing production hardware, working at our state-of-the-art climate-controlled manufacturing facility in Montville, NJ. You will work with a cross-functional quality, production, and engineering team to achieve quality and on-time delivery goals.

Requirements

  • 0-2 years’ experience with documentation/inspection in a manufacturing or production environment with mechanical parts.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Contribute to a positive and cooperative work environment through effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow procedures.
  • Strong Computer literacy, with PC skills and demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrate the ability to understand and work with blueprint drawings, and component manuals.
  • Must be a US Citizen

Responsibilities

  • Review the valves produced within the production cell and all accompanying documentation prior to presentation to final inspection.
  • Ensure that all products built within the production cell perform their intended functions in a satisfactory manner.
  • Work Order Traveler review
  • Acceptance Test Procedure (ATP) datasheets review
  • Assembly Procedure (AP) datasheets review
  • Oscilloscope Traces review
  • Nonconformance Packets review (if applicable)
  • Tool Lists review
  • Perform visual inspections of hardware
  • Check all Tec marks
  • Torque shipping block screws
  • Check orientation of all connectors
  • Check mounting holes for damage
  • Clean ports where applicable
  • Check all lock wire is present/acceptable
  • Check nameplates are correct
  • Manage or escalate issues impacting successful completion, communicating with technicians and team lead as necessary
  • Identify and document non-conformances
  • Participate in corrective action resolution
  • Generate spreadsheets for data collection
  • Read, understand, and interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, etc.
  • Document inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizing re-work and waste, and inputting data into quality database
  • Complete special projects and miscellaneous assignments as required
