About The Position

This employee reviews medical records obtained from customers, and enters and maintains chart note records within the company's billing software. They also communicate and/or educate operational staff on current qualifications to ensure compliance under payer regulations.

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• General office skills such as proficiency in PC programs and data entry, typing, filing, and basic math are essential
• Comfortable researching medical terminology
• Understanding medical terminology
• Ability to convey a positive and professional image
• Excellent communication skills
• Detail-oriented
• Maintain composure in high-pressure situations
• Able to effectively provide and respond to constructive criticism
• Capable of following an issue through to conclusion
• Ability to prioritize issues/situations and respond accordingly
• Able to effectively interact with all levels of the Lincare organization as well as customers

Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate chart notes
• Timely and accurate entry of records into billing software
• Become educated in payer qualifications and guidelines on multiple types of services to ensure billing compliance is met
• Work with operational personnel to ensure accurate and current qualifications are understood
• Work with the Central Audit Teams on audits concerning medical records
• Research medical documentation to accurately understand the scope of care and identify qualifying language
• Able to work independently must be detail-oriented and have excellent organizational skills
• May serve as a backup when other employees are out
