About The Position

The Document Delivery Technician for the University Libraries screens incoming requests to determine local ownership; verifies, retrieves, scans, and electronically delivers locally owned physical and digital documents; is cross-trained in and assists with Lending and Borrowing workflows; routes requests to branch libraries and library annex as appropriate; provides patron service in the Interlibrary Loan office; and serves as lead worker for student staff in the evening or in the absence of a supervisor. This position reports to the Borrowing Supervisor. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Requirements

  • The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma
  • At least two years of experience in a library environment
  • Applicable equivalencies may be considered on the above qualifications

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant library experience
  • Experience using interlibrary loan software such as ILLiad, RapidILL, or WorldCat Resource Sharing
  • Experience using planetary scanners
  • Experience using the Circulation module of an integrated library system, preferably Alma
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and to collaborate with others
  • Demonstrated ability to pay attention to detail
