You combine analytic rigor, doctrinal expertise, and clear communication to help produce authoritative guidance for the Joint Force. As a defense mission professional at Booz Allen, you will support the Joint Staff by conducting doctrine analysis, developing, revising, formatting, and publishing joint doctrine, supporting terminology and Universal Joint Task List processes, and facilitating working groups that sustain Chairman’s programs across doctrine, education, and training. You will work to ensure accurate, timely, policy aligned doctrinal products that directly support warfighters, senior leaders, and enterprise decision-making while contributing to modernization initiatives, emerging concepts, and interoperability across the Joint Force.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience supporting the assessment, development, or revision of joint or multinational doctrine
  • Experience applying joint principles that guide the proper use and development of doctrine
  • Experience with Joint Staff structure, mission, programs, and relationships with CCMDs, Services, and DoD agencies
  • Experience developing reports, briefs, or publications supporting doctrine, terminology, or Universal Joint Task List (UJTL) requirements
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of experience with warfighting operations, or 7+ years of experience with warfighting operations in lieu of a degree

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with online doctrine systems such as Joint Electronic Library, Joint Doctrine Development Tool, or UJTL Task Development Tool
  • Experience supporting working groups, conferences, comment adjudication, or coordination processes
  • Experience using collaborative environments such as MS Teams or JDDT to coordinate workflows and publication development
  • Experience supporting joint terminology updates or DoD Dictionary term change processes
  • Experience formatting coordination drafts, signature drafts, or editorial assessments in accordance with client style standards
  • Possession of excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including application of modern English grammar standards
