Requirements

Three years of medical office experience or successful completion of an MA or LPN program.
Knowledge of medical terminology, basic anatomy, and physiology.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced medical office environment.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information appropriately.
Ability to work effectively with physicians, medical staff, patients, families, and co-workers.
Demonstrated reliability and professionalism.

Responsibilities

Provide administrative and secretarial support to the physician, medical staff, and management.
Take and document phone messages and ensure information is communicated to the appropriate individuals.
Prepare information and documentation for upcoming surgeries.
Prepare patient charts and necessary information for physician office hours.
Schedule and coordinate appointments, x-rays, diagnostic testing, surgeries, depositions, and prescriptions.
Request and coordinate information from medical facilities and other healthcare professionals.
Process incoming and outgoing mail and maintain organized files and records.
Serve as a liaison between the physician, patients, families, medical facilities, and other healthcare professionals.
Use knowledge of medical terminology, basic anatomy, and physiology to support daily responsibilities.
Assist with patient flow and provide support in the hallway as needed.
Support clinical studies and other physician-related projects.
Assist with transcription and other administrative responsibilities as appropriate.
Track continuing education and maintain required documentation.
Provide coverage and support for co-workers when needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
