About The Position

This position is responsible for coordinating the transportation and distribution of fuel and lubricants to customers in commercial, industrial, and marine operations. This position supports company operations by scheduling and overseeing the loading/receiving and delivering of products via boats, barges, and trucks in a safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible manner. Along with performing a variety of maintenance tasks on facility and other company assets.

Requirements

  • Five years industry experience.
  • Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC) with Tankerman-Person in Charge (PIC) and Dangerous Liquids Endorsement.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC)
  • High School degree or equivalent
  • Organized, and detail oriented.
  • Initiative-taking and multi-task oriented
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook and show an ability to learn computer operating systems.
  • Good customer relations skills

Nice To Haves

  • Dispatching, routing, logistics and tanking experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate/Communicates with customers, all vessel and barge movements, and truck loadings as needed via VHF, Computer, or phone.
  • Coordinate and assist general fleeting operation.
  • Coordinate/Communicate with internal and external stakeholders in personnel management for shore-based operations.
  • Knowledge of facility Security Plan and control all person(s) entering and leaving the facility.
  • Interface with various regulatory bodies (USCG, DEQ…)
  • Other duties requested by Director, Supervisor or Executive Management as needed.
  • Load and discharge liquid cargo to and from docks, vessels, trucks, and tote tanks in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Connect and disconnect hoses.
  • Align and secure valves.
  • Monitor cargo flow.
  • Offload trash and used oil filters from vessels.
  • Operate a forklift.
  • Operate a hydraulic crane.
  • Communicate via a VHF radio.
  • Maintain equipment in good working order and condition.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the facility.
  • Work with a variety of hand tools, including wrenches, shovels, scrub brushes, and the like.
  • Track inventory.
  • Complete and submit paperwork, including Declaration of Inspection (DOI), sales tickets, daily reports, and the like in a timely manner.
  • Update job logs on an ongoing basis.
  • Troubleshoot problems.
  • Train and assess Dockman.
  • Work without supervision.
  • Use a computer.
  • Perform drills.
  • Handle emergencies.
  • Conduct Job Safety Analysis’ (JSA).
