About The Position

This position is responsible for picking and pulling customer orders, staging orders for shipping, and safely loading and unloading trucks. The role ensures all shipments are complete and shipped correctly, identifies and reports issues with packing, stacking, or unsafe pallets, and accurately completes all necessary paperwork. The position requires maintaining high accuracy in transfers and location tracking, developing knowledge of TMM (Thermoformed Materials Management) systems, and completing training on double stacking pallets. Understanding the warehouse layout, maintaining organization, and identifying solutions to warehouse challenges are key. The role also involves understanding production processes to anticipate issues, multitasking, and maintaining a clean dock area and forklifts. Operating a forklift safely in a fast-paced environment with varying load sizes is essential, as is developing knowledge of T.O. Plastics products. Professional and respectful interaction with outside truck drivers and customers is expected, acting as the face of T.O. Plastics. Adherence to all safety procedures and reporting of unsafe conditions are mandatory. Other duties may be assigned by the supervisor/manager.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to pass a forklift driving certification test and operate a forklift safely is required.
  • Basic computer skills required, including the use of Microsoft Office, PC application, and the ability to work with different applications on different formats.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend basic English is essential for understanding various forms of work directions and safety instructions.
  • Ability to communicate, both verbally and written, in a professional, positive, and constructive manner.
  • Good customer service and people skills are required as this position often acts as a customer facing representative of T.O. Plastics during interactions with outside truck drivers and vendors.
  • Must be detail oriented and demonstrate both team-based and independent work skills.
  • Strong organization, time management, multitasking, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment consistently and correctly.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs occasionally.

Responsibilities

  • Pick and Pull Customer Orders.
  • Stage orders for shipping.
  • Safely load and unload trucks.
  • Ensure all shipments are complete and shipped correctly.
  • Identify and report issues in packing, stacking, incomplete, or unsafe pallets.
  • Complete all paperwork accurately (i.e., basic paperwork, scrap tickets, transfers, etc.).
  • Maintain transfer accuracy and location accuracy at > 95%.
  • Enhanced TMM knowledge (i.e., transfers, lookup, GENQ, and scheduling report).
  • Transfers complete at end of each order.
  • Complete training on double stacking pallets in the warehouse.
  • Understand warehouse layout and maintain organization.
  • Identify and implement solutions to warehouse challenges.
  • Understand Production processes and anticipate possible issues.
  • Multitask and anticipate issues.
  • Maintain dock area by sweeping and cleaning as need.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of all forklifts.
  • Operate a forklift safely in a fast-paced environment while carrying small to large loads.
  • Develop a good knowledge of T.O. Plastics products.
  • Treat outside truck drivers and customers with respect, professionalism, and act as the face of T.O. Plastics.
  • Identify and report any unsafe work conditions, behaviors, or incidents.
  • Follow and adhere to all safety procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor/manager.
