The role includes securing freight with straps, braces, and padding to prevent damage or shifting; accurately recording freight condition upon arrival at the service center; and inspecting dock equipment before and after each shift. Regular attendance is required. This is not an all-inclusive list of duties, and operational, safety, or other needs may require additional assigned tasks. Employees must be able to perform those duties and tasks. The position involves frequent physical activity, including standing, walking, handling freight, and lifting approximately 70 pounds or more when required. The work environment may include moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, high or precarious places, hazardous materials, and varying weather conditions. Noise levels range from quiet to loud. The employee must be able to work all shifts, including overtime and weekends, and meet the demands of a high-volume environment with tight time constraints and multiple priorities.
