About The Position
This is a part-time Dock Worker / Forklift Operator position with available shifts from Monday to Friday, 1:00 AM to 5:00 AM. The role involves loading and unloading freight in a productive, safe, and claims-free manner, maximizing space when loading freight. While not working inside a warehouse, the position requires completing pre and post-trip inspections on dock equipment, properly documenting freight control processes, and participating in training programs. Employees must be available for irregular work schedules and adhere to operational procedures.
Requirements
- 18 years of age
- Basic math skills
- Fluent in English
- Able to pass a drug screen
- Legally eligible to work in the United States
Responsibilities
- Load and unload freight in a productive, safe and claims-free manner.
- Maximize space when loading freight.
- Complete pre and post trip inspections on all dock equipment.
- Properly document all freight control processes.
- Participate in Dayton Freight’s training and improvement programs.
- Be available for irregular work schedules, alternating work shifts and/or assignments.
- Adhere to the operational procedures and guidelines contained in the Dayton Freight Driver/Dockworker Manual.
