The Dock Supervisor will report to the Operations Manager /Assistant Terminal Manager and/or Terminal Manager. This role involves leading, guiding, and directing dock employees, including setting targets, monitoring performance, and providing coaching, counseling, and development. The supervisor is accountable for managing an efficient, clean, and safe LTL operation, including dock planning and setting schedules. They will enforce understanding and compliance with all Company policies and procedures, safety rules, and government regulations. The position is involved in and makes recommendations for hiring and termination processes. The Dock Supervisor will administer and carry out assigned portions of the Terminal Business plan, be responsible for meeting all assigned KPIs, and utilize all Company enhancement tools and processes daily. They will review and revise schedules to increase efficiencies and lower costs, and be responsible for equipment assignment and movement (trailers and tractors) in collaboration with other supervisors/management. Additionally, the role requires responsible and proper communication to customers via phone, fax, or email, and overseeing all paperwork associated with the dock to ensure it is handled timely and correctly by employees. Regular attendance is required.
