As a Dock Specialist you will report to the Fulfillment Center Manager focused on ensuring we utilize our dock space fully and ship and receive product accurately. You will play a crucial role in inventory accuracy, quality control, and dock management. The Dock Specialist responsibilities primarily include but are not limited to: driver check-in, loading and unloading bookfair shipments, managing BOLs and quality documentation for truckloads, updating systems as shipments occur, unloading and receiving of new inventory, general dock flow and organization. The impact areas for the Dock Specialist are revenue growth, Fulfillment Center execution, and quality control. Responsibilities

  • Driver check-in
  • Loading and unloading bookfair shipments
  • Managing BOLs and quality documentation for truckloads
  • Updating systems as shipments occur
  • Unloading and receiving of new inventory
  • General dock flow and organization
  • Load and unload cargo safely by hand or using forklifts, hand trucks, or pallet jacks when appropriate.
  • Stack, secure, and wrap freight to prevent damage during transit.
  • Verify shipping manifests, bills of lading, and delivery receipts.
  • Accurately input data into warehouse inventory systems.
  • Inspect arriving and departing shipments for damage, missing items, or discrepancies, and report them to supervisors.
  • Communicate frequently with supervisors, collaborate with other team members, and assist in other areas as needed.
