Dock Person - Deerfield Beach
About The Position
This role involves operating Powered Industrial Trucks to accurately load and secure pallets of outbound product for safe transportation. Responsibilities include ensuring all pallets and totes are accounted for on the correct trailer per load sheets, loading special orders and credits/outs, and merging them with the correct load. The position also requires communicating load close information to the shipping office, supplying pallets or shipping platforms for selectors, and communicating incoming and outgoing pallet trailers to the dock coordinator and manager. Additionally, the role involves moving shipping containers (totes, produce baskets) to selecting areas and replenishing them, monitoring and recording trailer temperatures according to cold chain SOPs, operating a baler (Return Center only), operating a pallet sorter, and cleaning debris from the work/loading area. The responsibilities listed are not intended to be all-inclusive, and additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Requirements
- Operating Powered Industrial Trucks
- Accurately loading and securing pallets of outbound product
- Ensuring all pallets and totes are accurately accounted for on the correct trailer per the load sheets

- Sorting bulk mail and dropping at correct lanes for shipping
- Cleaning debris from work/loading area

- Communicating load close information to shipping office
- Supplying pallets or shipping platforms for selectors use on the dock
- Communicating incoming and outgoing pallet trailers to dock coordinator and manager to ensure supply is sufficient for shipping needs
- Moving shipping containers i.e., totes, produce baskets, etc. to selecting areas and replenishing throughout the shift
- Monitoring and recording trailer temperatures as outlined in cold chain Standard Operation Procedures to ensure product temperature is not compromised
- Operating baler (Return Center only)
- Operating pallet sorter
- Sorting bulk mail and dropping at correct lanes for shipping
- Cleaning debris from work/loading area
