Dock Operator (Dedicated)
About The Position
PSC Group is hiring a full-time Dock Operator to work outdoors and assist with the safe transfer of oil products and chemicals to and from barges or ships. The role involves communicating with vessel and facility personnel, maintaining accurate dock records, operating dock equipment and valves, and supporting product transfers. Experience is not required; paid on-the-job training is available. The position requires regular onsite attendance and a 12-hour rotating schedule that includes days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old and legally able to work in the United States.
- Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check.
- Wear all required personal protective equipment without restriction and pass any required medical examinations.
- Speak, write, and read fluent English.
- Maintain regular onsite attendance and punctuality.
- A valid driver's license and/or valid TWIC card may be required depending on work location.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience; experience is a plus but not required.
- Previous military experience and a proven ability to follow procedures.
Responsibilities
- Meet with the person in charge of the vessel and communicate with facility personnel.
- Maintain detailed dock logs, recording events in chronological order.
- Operate cranes, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical equipment, and manual or motor-operated valves.
- Understand the facility piping layout to transfer the proper product.
- Gauge barges and retrieve product samples from vessels.
- Complete other duties as assigned to complete the job.
