About The Position

The Dock Helper Lead is responsible for coordinating and leading daily dock operations to ensure the accurate, timely, and safe receipt, staging, loading, and unloading of products, equipment, and airline catering supplies. This position provides guidance to Dock Helpers, maintains operational efficiency, and ensures compliance with company, customer, food safety, and safety regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 1–3 years of warehouse, logistics, airline catering, or dock operations experience.
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts (if certified).
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Basic computer and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in refrigerated, freezer, and outdoor environments.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous leadership or team lead experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of airline catering operations is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the activities of Dock Helpers during assigned shifts.
  • Assign daily tasks and monitor work performance to ensure operational requirements are met.
  • Support supervisors in achieving on-time flight departures and customer service standards.
  • Ensure all loading and unloading activities are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Assist with staffing adjustments based on flight schedules and operational needs.
  • Oversee the receipt, staging, and dispatch of catering equipment, carts, and supplies.
  • Verify quantities and conditions of products received and shipped.
  • Ensure proper documentation and tracking of equipment and inventory.
  • Monitor aircraft catering schedules and prioritize workload accordingly.
  • Coordinate with Production, Transportation, and Warehouse teams to support operational requirements.
  • Enforce company safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, HACCP, sanitation, and airline security requirements.
  • Conduct regular dock inspections to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Report accidents, incidents, equipment damage, and safety concerns immediately.
  • Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Train and mentor new Dock Helpers on operational procedures and safety standards.
  • Monitor employee performance and provide coaching as needed.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment.
  • Assist supervisors with attendance monitoring and performance feedback.
  • Monitor the condition of carts, containers, pallets, and dock equipment.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of products and materials.
  • Report maintenance issues and equipment malfunctions promptly.
  • Assist with inventory counts and reconciliation activities.
