About The Position

The Dock Lead is responsible for supervising dock workers and route drivers at the dock location. This role involves ensuring proper service to customers, handling customer complaints, maintaining the cleanliness and operation of the dock and equipment, and operating company vehicles. The position requires maintaining quality customer service through professionalism and courtesy.

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years old.
Two or more years of driving experience.
Class A CDL with tanker endorsement required.
Clean MVR.
Good working knowledge of general vehicle maintenance.
Demonstrated proficiency working on computers.

Nice To Haves

Prior supervisory experience.
Prior route driver experience.
Good communication skills both oral and written.
Team player; works well with others.
Detail oriented; well organized; ability to multi-task.
Good math skills; ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers.

Responsibilities

Supervising route drivers and dock workers.
Running routes out of the dock or plant and notifying drivers of special instructions.
Checking customer route tickets weekly to ensure proper service.
Servicing customer complaints until a Customer Service Representative can make contact.
Ensuring the cleanliness and proper operation of the dock and equipment.
Keeping grounds clean and clear of damaged containers.
Operating assigned company vehicle and maintaining its cleanliness.
Reporting any mechanical or operational problems with vehicles immediately.
Potentially maintaining a DOT log book.
Maintaining quality customer service by being professional and courteous.
Performing other duties as assigned.
