Responsible for the overall safety of the dock and aiding in the safety of all coworkers. This role involves informing their Supervisor of any unsafe or hazardous conditions on the dock, reporting and making corrections to hazardous or unsafe conditions when able, and performing routine housekeeping duties with a 'clean-as-you-go' mentality. The Dock Laborer will also participate in all drills and safety meetings, learn and perform assigned duties in emergency situations, and understand when and how to use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This list of duties is not exhaustive, as Dockhands are expected to perform any duties required by their Supervisor, which may include assisting other teams at EMS as needed.
