About The Position

The Dock Hand is an integral part of the support team for the marina. They are responsible for working directly with the team to support the day-to-day needs of the marina; including vessel cleaning, coordination of onboard provisions and pumping fuel at marinas that have a fuel dock. The Dock Hand provides excellent customer service to ensure a smooth and welcoming experience for all marina visitors. Greeting and checking in guests in a friendly and professional manner. Assisting with reservations, providing information about the facility and services, amenities and policies. Handling payment procedures. Handling cash transaction accurately and securely. Maintain an organized cash drawer and reconcile transactions at the end of each shift. Follow established procedures for emergency situations, such as fire alarms or medical emergencies. Provide assistance to guests and staff as needed. Assist with removing mooring covers. Ability to work the fuel dock and ensure customers are supported in their purchases. Prepare boats for scheduled outings. Maintain cleanliness of the yachts: wash, polish chrome, clean teak floors, clean engine compartments, replace oil sorbs as needed. Boating experience is a plus but not required. Will be operating equipment to include tractors/mowers/hoist/etc. Any other duties as assigned by TPG Hotels & Resorts and the direct Manager.

Requirements

  • High school or equivalent experience.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Basic accounting skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and property management systems.
  • Must satisfy and comply with the legal requirements for employment within the jurisdiction.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to stand for extended periods.
  • Able to occasionally kneel, stoop, bend and twist in tight areas.
  • Comfortability with ladders and confined spaces is required.
  • Ability to work in the elements regularly.

Nice To Haves

  • Boating experience is a plus but not required.
  • Basic boating knowledge is a plus.
